Baby Name (Zanna)

I saw a name yesterday that was really nice. It was Zanna . I thought, maybe it's a variation on Hannah. Anyway, I asked the lady her name and she pronounced it like Zanina and said it was old Russian. (She pronounced it like Zha ne na) not (Za nina). Wow, such a pretty name. When I did a web search for it I found that it was Hebrew/Greek - stemming from Suzanna and means Lily, Rose. I think that it is such a nice name.  I'm going to add it to my list of possible future baby girl names... because you never know - I  may have more kids? Maybe. Follow my blog with Bloglovin As many people know - google reader is going to stop soon. I use it all the time so I was really bummed. My husband recommended feedly to read blogs from and we uploaded and found out we both didn't really like the user interface of feedly.  I was stumped. What now? Then I saw Rindy Mae - post this: bloglovin And I was so happy to find an alternative. I signed up and I like the user interface a lot better already. Now I just need to figure out now to add my own blog to their system.... and I think I just figured it out!

Three Cheese and Vegetable Grilled Panini

A couple weeks ago, my slow cooker spent all day simmering beef for my French dip au jus. It was well worth it. I saw several recipes online recommending the use of Boursin cheese. They sell it here. I had never bought it before and probably wouldn't buy it again. It wasn't bad, it's just that it's a soft cheese with garlic and herbs that is over priced. There are a lot of other brands of soft cheese with garlic and herbs that I can get for less. And if I was gonna buy a name brand expensive cheese again - I'd defintitely go with Paturain. I love their cheeses. Anyway, back in the day when I lived in the states, I used to go to this sandwich shop called Quizno's. They had the best French dip and I think it had a bit of cheese on it as well. I loved it. I would go there quite regularly. Then one day, I walked in and it was off the menu. The entire menu had changed. And the guy working there said yeah, that's what makes Quizno's so special. They cha

We talk about moving back to the United States... often. We have a lot of good reasons to go there. I have family there. I want my kids to spend more time with their cousins. I want them to experience American high school and all it has to offer. You know - not just the classroom stuff but all the extra-curricular activities that make high school fun. And many more reasons that are faith based. But then there is the other hand. On the other hand, what I really like about living in the Netherlands and Eindhoven specifically: Eindhoven is a good size city but not too big. I don't really like city living. You know when you think of city life - you think of big cities like Paris, New York, Amsterdam and London. I don't like Amsterdam that much. It's too congested feeling. Although Paris is amazing. But anyway, Eindhoven is actually many smaller villages that grew together and just became Eindhoven. I live in Woensel which is North Eindhoven. I can find everything I need t

Spicy Peanut Noodles

I got this recipe from the cook book Tofu 1-2-3 . It's not the tofu that I loved in this recipe - it's the sauce and the noodles. Prepare this meal and serve with tofu, chicken or even just broccoli. This recipe is easy and delicious. Definitely a keeper in my home. I actually served it with spare ribs. It was a scrumptious meal. The second time I made it, I paired it with green beans, red bell pepper and fried egg. It was really good.  My version of a fantastic recipe: 4 tablespoons Ketjap manis (sweet soy sauce), divided 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1 pound firm or extra firm tofu, rinsed, patted dry, and cut into 1/2-inch cubes (or chicken breast cut up, or pork or whatever you like) 1/3 cup natural chunky peanut butter 3 tablespoons honey 2 tablespoons rice vinegar 1 tablespoon water 1 tablespoon sesame seeds 1 clove garlic, minced 1/2 - 1 teaspoon sambal, or chili paste 2 packages ramen noodles, prepared with seasoning packet, drained 2 scallions, thinly sli
