White Chocolate Oreo Cookie Spread

Image
There are gonna have to be two recipe versions of this delicious spread. This is the easy version. I will have to create another version for people who cannot buy White chocolate spread so easily. I'm sure it can be recreated very easily with some coconut oil, sugar, and good quality melted white chocolate.  But for now, here is what I did. I bought a jar 400 g white chocolate sandwich spread. I scooped it out and put it into the my food processor and started to process it. That's because sandwich spread can get a little hard and I wanted it nice and whipped for when I added in the Oreo cookies. First I started with 4 Oreo cookies. Then I decided two more would do it. Turned out really yummy and very easy. Scooped into clean jar. Now I think this is something that the Oreo cookie people could introduce on the global market. I also, went one step further and made a peanut butter variety. And that one is super duper yummy. So, from the first recipe of 400 g...

Baby Names with Alternative Spellings

Image
My Mom posted this on Facebook the other day. I thought it was pretty funny and worth sharing. These are legitimate names in Utah. Maybe because Utahns are having more children than the average family in the U.S. of A. they want to get more creative with their names.  A friend of mine in Arizona though, just had a baby girl named (Eliza) but she spells it: Ylayza. Because of her Spanish heritage I could figure out how the name was pronounced - but it sure is different. I think names should be easy to spell and obvious - I know, even I come up with some different names but I usually like to stick with an easy way to spell it. But that's just me. If I could do one thing different, I would go back in time and change the spelling of Kailea's name. People are pronouncing it wrong all the time. And we specifically chose this spelling so it would be easier for the Dutch to pronounce and they are the ones pronouncing it wrong all the time. If I could change it, I would mak...

Oreo Cookie Spread

Image
You know how they have Nutella? And it's delicious. Now they have been selling this Speculoos (Biscoff spread) and since then I've been thinking Nabisco should hop on the band wagon and introduce an Oreo Cookie sandwich spread. And I think they should have the Netherlands be their test market because we already eat sweet stuff on our bread all the time. Two years ago I was at the Aldi and I had found some Stracciatella sandwich spread and it was pretty good but I would love it if Nabisco could do a sandwich spread as well.  I made some pretty awesome sweet rolls with that Stracciatella sandwich spread. Too bad it was only a limited time thing because I would buy something like that on a regular basis if it was available. I should try to figure out how to make my own cookie spread, but the problem is whenever I buy Oreo's and intend on making something yummy like this: I never  almost never get around to making that stuff because we end up just eating them pl...

Business Ideas Part 2

Image
These ideas are mainly food related - because I'm a real foodie and it occupies my thoughts much of the time. Some are specific for the U.S. market and others are ideas that I think would work really well in the Dutch market. 1. In the Netherlands, there are a number of very successful farm-restaurants. That's the best translation I can come up with. Basically, they are large restaurants that are out in the country side that people stop at while they are on a bike ride and other people drive to them specifically. Why they are popular is because they have a great atmosphere. Some of them are located in old, beautiful farm houses. Some of these farm houses still have animals nearby. And that is a nice thing, too because it gives you something extra to do with the kids. Look at animals. Like a petting farm. A lot of them use ingredients in the cooking from the land that they farm. Because of the amount of land surrounding the farm-restaurants - they often have very big play ar...

February - Sandwich Month

Image
I declared February sandwich month - because I do all the cooking in my house and I can do that. This year only, we will be featuring sandwiches, burgers, etc - on the menu in our house. Philly Cheese Steak When I told my husband he was a little disappointed - because naturally when some of us think of a sandwich we think of peanut butter and jam. But I listed a few of the sandwich offerings to come and then he was okay with it. Here are a few of the sandwiches we've had thus far: Burger King style crispy chicken sandwich (much cheaper to make at home) Turkey cranberry croissant (recipe below) BBQ Ham sandwiches (they looked a lot like Arby's roast beef sandwiches) Philly Cheese steak (our Valentine's dinner) Moons over Mihammy sandwich (a copycat version like the one from Denny's restaurant) BLT with avocado and cheese Fried egg, bacon, avocado and cream cheese sandwich (yummy - my breakfasts on many occasions) And here are a few of the sandwiches to...
