Suzy's Closet Dress Rentals 692 N 150 W Hurricane, Utah 435-680-2858 By appointment only. Last week I had the opportunity to visit with Dena Humphries of Hurricane. She runs Suzy's Closet. It's a non profit Dress Rental in Hurricane. The goal of this non-profit is to provide modest affordable dresses for young women. But, anyone can "rent" a dress - you don't have to be young. Dena said she had someone going to a Marine ball in Southern California that was older that was borrowing a dress. The cost to rent dresses is $35 per dress. This covers the cost of dry cleaning therefore, Dena doesn't make anything extra, hence non-profit. Dena runs this business out of her house, namely out of her living and family rooms. Why doesn't she call it Dena's Closet? She said because she thought it didn't sound good. She chose the name Suzy because it was cute and similar to her middle name Sue. Last year she also went to the Marine Ball, and rented a dress from Ooh La La Dress Rental, so she returned to the same place for something special. I feel lucky that she invited me to a dress shop of sorts to preview some formal attire.  I walked down the stairs into a basement, and was instantly wowed. I was like a little girl in a candy store... but like candy for women: dresses - pretty, sparkly gorgeous dresses. This particular showroom is owned by St. George mom Brittney Callister. We had planned on having a mommy meet up at Firehouse Park but it was much too cold for that. We went inside to the Story Time hour over at St. George Library. Every week the St. George Library has several offerings for Story Time participation. I have only ever attended the Wednesday Story Time with Mrs. Mann. It is held at 10:00, 11:00 and 2:00 for ages 3-5, but I am usually there with my 2 year old and there are a lot of little ones with older siblings as well. Mrs. Mann plays fun music, reads longer stories for those ready to listen, there is usually a theme craft or coloring sheet at the end. It's fun. Mrs. Mann is awesome.
