Story Time at St. George Library, Utah

Image
First snow this Fall, Jarvis Peak west of St. George, about 10 miles. Nice photo eh?! Photo courtesy Mark Today it was cold outside, burrrr... very cold. We had planned on having a mommy meet up at Firehouse Park but it was much too cold for that. We went inside to the Story Time hour over at St. George Library. Every week the St. George Library has several offerings for Story Time participation. I have only ever attended the Wednesday Story Time with Mrs. Mann. It is held at 10:00, 11:00 and 2:00 for ages 3-5, but I am usually there with my 2 year old and there are a lot of little ones with older siblings as well. Mrs. Mann plays fun music, reads longer stories for those ready to listen, there is usually a theme craft or coloring sheet at the end. It's fun. Mrs. Mann is awesome. She has a special gift interacting with the youngsters. She's a pro! There is also a Monday Story Time with Grandpa Steve 10:00-11:00 for ages 12 and younger. Again, Wednesday Evening Stor...

Pinterest Crafty Ideas and Recipes that Rocked (June)

I've been kind of happy with Pinterest lately. I think I mentioned this last month in a post . Well, I finally have been trying a few recipes here and there that I pinned. The ones that turn out pretty tasty are usually the dessert recipes. But I've tried a few other more adult - grown up foods that were good as well. Like some French Dip subs for example, but what I really want to share today are two crafts that I did that worked out well and one dessert. Nutella Smores Bars This isn't a recipe I would have gone looking for, that's why it's nice to just subscribe to a few other Pinners who like similar things and then you get some really great suggestions. This one actually came via The Cake Bar. I have been wanting to make it for a while. I even bought real Nutella because it was on sale last month. I was going to go to a Church picknick and then it got cancelled due to sucky Dutch weather.  Well, Mark asked me to make something that he could take on a phot...

Best of Pinterest

In the last two months or so I've really gotten into Pinterest -  and even though I had that Pin It button on my tool bar for over a year, I finally got why Pinterest is useful. It's like Evernote - but public - although they do have a possibility for secret boards... and it's a great way to organize stuff... except that Evernote lets you organize websites and notes without images...   that's the only problem I've run into with Pinterest - I can't "pin" some really useful websites because they have no images on the site. It basically sucks then... But really, I have come across some super duper cute tutorials and images that I basically without Pinterest - would have probably not stumbled upon. Here they are... Definitely the Cutest Craft t utorial   I have seen this month: From Prudentbaby.com - DIY Fox Scarf with Free Pattern How cute it this foxy scarf?! I love it. And it actually looks easy to make according the the tutorial.....

Kailea's Christmas Stocking I did one for Ella first, then for Kailea. It's complete... was much faster this time because I used the sewing machine for the stocking itself - the other stuff is all hand-appliqued though. I really enjoyed this craft... I'd like to make some more. I want to make one for Mark next. I actually made one for him when we were first married - but it turned out kind of crappy... I'd like a retry at that since I've gotten better... I also made one for Maxine -- hers also turned out kind of crappy so I will try again on that one, too... this year though... I'm not sure about that. But anyways, here is Kailea's stocking:
